Come and view an expanding collection for sale and on exhibit until March 1st. Each piece is one of a kind, designed by Dan, who creates his own sterling silver, 18k and 14k gold alloys that he then fashions, mills, forges, fuses and brazes into miniature sculptures for personal adornment. Dan selects, and sets each stone, often performing his own lapidary work on select stones, having complete contact and artistic connection with each piece of fine art jewelry from concept to collection.

Dan Balk's jewelry collections are hand made in his studio at Singing Stone.

Dan is an award winning artist and has been accepted to some of the most prestigious juried art shows in Florida. Dan Balk specializes in unique, one-of-a-kind, sterling silver jewelry designs for men and women. Each piece is lovingly fabricated by hand using raw materials, or through the lost wax casting method.

The lost wax process was used by ancient cultures over two thousand years ago. The name “lost wax casting” owes its origin to the fact that an expendable wax pattern was formed of the object to be cast, and, in the process that followed, this wax pattern was surrounded by a heat resistant plaster compound to form a mold and when the mold was heated the wax melted out and was “lost”.

Hand fabrication implies the piece of jewelry was made by hand by the artist, without the use of casting. Daniel employs both methods as to not limit the creative process by the technical boundaries of either technique.

On February 27, 2010, The Singing Stone joined Ybor City's art community offering a gallery of eclectic contemporary craft and fine art. In a historic casita on 8th Ave. and 19th Street, the gallery showcases hand fabricated fine art jewelry and a variety of other artistic mediums. We are proud to be able to display our friends' work. We are acquiring new art all the time.

Gallery owners, Daniel and Nataly Balk feature award winning regional artists as well as silversmith, Daniel Balk's unique, one-of-a-kind, jewelry designs. A family owned and operated business, The Singing Stone, Casa de ART offers a platform from which local and regional artists can exhibit their work. We are encouraging artists who are looking to consign their work to contact us.
